“Ukiyo-e (浮世) is directly translated as a floating world and is also a genre style of painting and printmaking developed in Japan from the 17th to the 19th centuries and marked by the depiction of the leisure activities of ordinary people.”
With a sprawling population of 19 million people, I can safely say that most of them exist in the Namba - Dōtonbori area and what you see is complete madness in the most orderly fashion way ever and a lot of Chinese tourists who walk on the wrong side of the pavement.
Besides our Airbnb being the typical studio apartment with the tiniest bathroom in the world, it was amazingly located right besides Kuromon Market and knowing that, we knew that getting obliterated the night before was rewarded with every animal imaginable to eat at our fingertips.

Below is Noon + Cafe which is like the zen garden cafe for hipsters with no pretentious attitudes and great looking bathrooms.
Osaka is like Tokyo in some ways but it does reserve itself a little bit and surprises you with narrow Edo style alleyways and keeps it less populated which filters out a lot of the tourists and gives you your own space. It also has a lot of stunning women.
However, Dōtonbori is complete mayhem. Slapped in the middle of it all are international retail stores and a lot of yelling, picture taking, and public intoxication that lead us to Giraffe Osaka (ジラフ大阪).This third floor EDM/disco and main floor Top 40 introduced us how locals party and like Dōtonbori, it was a complete shit show of peacock boys and failed attempts at romance.
I don’t really remember much after Giraffe Osaka and all I really got out of it was waking up next to an empty bowl of rice (my life these days) and the picture below of me being completely TKO’d outside of our Airbnb. To be continued.
